The house is conceived as a beam-shaped volume with a front construction over 1 storey. The main volume was built in black glued facing brick and is closed to the street side and open to the garden side by means of a large glass section over 2 floors. Because this facade is south-facing, the glass section was placed under an overhang.
The front building was built in exposed concrete and includes a garage for 3 cars and a patio to the entrance door. The garage door consists of Corten panels that can be slid in front of the opening in the patio. Also on the garden side, the concrete returns as facade cladding to shield the covered terrace.
The house is 21 m wide and was conceived as an open plan. A box was placed in the center of the room in which a cloakroom, toilet, storage room, cold store and cupboards were provided. The outside of this box was covered with panels and doors in black veneer. The kitchen is located in the middle on the garden side. The lounge area to the right of the kitchen can be separated from the other rooms by means of sliding panels.
On top of the central box, there is a central space on the first floor with a void on both the front and garden facade. From this central space you can reach the children's rooms and bathroom on the left. On the right side is the parents' bedroom with covered terrace, dressing room, bathroom and outdoor shower. The interior of the house was completely carried out by Casa Vero (Geel).
