Multimasters is a major player in facility management. Their great growth in recent years made it, after analysis by BBSC-Architects, that optimizing the existing building was not enough. Expansion was expensive and difficult with urban planning regulations. A new building was therefore necessary. The spot on the dock is unique. The question to BBSC-Architects was to design an office building that uses the view to the Albert Canal and dock. By not placing the facade parallel to the dock, but diagonally from it, BBSC-Architects ensures this involvement. The building is located in an industrial environment. The client is a facility company. The building must radiate the warmth of the corporate culture that the employees display every day and of course if cleaning is part of your activity, it always comes across as neat and fresh and is a home for every user.
After analysis, BBSC architects propose a building where users have no fixed place for each of their daily tasks. Places such as Town-Hall, clubhouse, library, phone booth, train compartment provide a new way of working. The town hall receives visitors, but employees from other branches also come to work in this lounge between meetings at the head office. The clubhouses per department are the warm soul of each business unit. The library is the place where you can familiarize yourself with a difficult file. All departments have flexible workplaces and the meeting rooms, telephone corners and train compartment layouts ensure easy consultation. The building is a skeleton structure for optimal flexibility. The building material is ceramic tiles for the facades, combined with bronze-coloured windows. Inside, the walls can be dismantled, together with the floor covering with loose tiles, an adjustment of the layout ensures a minimum of demolition waste, almost everything is reusable. Naturally, the building is acoustically and energetically what you would expect from a sophisticated building.
